Where are the ruins located?
Retiro Maya is 6.5 km. south from the Tulum Ruins, which can be reached by taxi, car, or bicycle. . 

Is there electricity in the cabañas? 
There is no electricity in the entire hotel zone of Tulum. We provide candles in all of the cabañas for a more romantic atmosphere. This is the only way to go if one wants to enjoy the stars fully!!!

Is there electricity in the restaurant?
Yes, from night fall untill 11:00 P. M.

Is there elecricity in the house?
Yes, from night fall untill 11:00 P. M.

When is the checkout? 
12:00 p.m. We request that all cabañas be vacated by noon in order to prepare them for new arrivals, but all guests are welcome to store their luggage with us and enjoy the beach and common bathroom services if they decide to leave at a later hour.

When is the check-in time? 
Check-in is at 3:00 p.m. You are welcome to arrive earlier if you wish, but there is a possibility that your cabaña will not be ready. We can offer you a place to store your luggage in the meantime, and you are welcome to use the common bathroom/shower facilities as you enjoy the beach during your wait. We will let you have your cabana as soon as it is ready (sometimes before 3 P.M.

Is the sea safe for swimming? 
Of course! The sea in this area has no dangerous currents and is generally very calm. The reef is located about 300 m. from land and it is a great place to snorkel. Just head left out from Retiro Maya you can't miss it! 

Where can I do my laundry? 
We offer laundry service within 24 hours.

Are there ceiling fans in the cabañas? 
As there is no electricity, we do not offer ceiling fans in the cabañas. All rooms are well ventilated with a crossed the sea breeze, and are very comfortable, even in the warmer months of May and June. 

Are there ceiling fans in the house? 
Yes, from night fall untill 11:00 P. M.

How do I get back to the Cancún airport for my flight? 
When you're ready to return to the Cancún airport, you can either arrange for a ground transfer or you can take a bus: either a first- or second-class bus to Playa del Carmen, then the special Riviera bus that goes straight to the airport (10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 16:30, 17:30, 18:30, 19:30, 20.30, 21:30 hrs.) 

Directions to Cabanas Retiro Maya from Cancun's International airport. 
Take highway 307 south from the airport, towards Chetumal, pass Playa del Carmen (about 45 minutes), keep on going until Tulum Ruins (about another 45 min), pass the ruins, go to the next stop light (Boca-Paila Coba), make a left, keep going until you find the police station, (about 2 kilometers), make a right, keep on 2 kilometers more, CABANAS RETIRO MAYA will be on our left side, they are very well signalized.
